Months ago I got into a conversation on dA about official Disney movie storybook illustrations and how they’re all bloody done with sterile-looking vectors/airbrushing or as direct screencaps from the films (especially back in the 90s/early 00s).  Then I remembered a Little Mermaid book I had that was an amazing exception to the rule but it proved impossible to find decent pics of it online.  Now that I’m visiting back home I had to dig it up and scan a couple of pages. These are watercolour illustrations by Fred Marvin from a story collection called “The Little Mermaid: Tales from Under the Sea” and I think more people ought to see them because they are beautiful.
